NO.2 ROAD PROJECT

PAVEMENT DEMOLITION

CLEARING AND HAULING

INSTALLATION OF INFRASTRUCTRE UPGRADES

EXISTING CULVERT CLEAN OUT

FRESH CURBS, NEW BIKE PATHS AND ROADWAYS

M2K’s scope of work for this project was to perform boulevard restoration as well as rehabilitation for 1700m of culverts for the City of Richmond. The site improvements included excavating and trench works measuring approximately 3.5m wide and at a depth of 3m for the installation of storm, sewer and water civil works. M2K completed road construction, paving approximately 3300 tonnes of asphalt, as well as 6000m2 of asphalt allocated for the new multi-use pathways. The pathways included construction of 750m of concrete curb and gutter and 1000m of sidewalk.

Project Challenges:

M2K’s scope of work for the City of Richmond included site works along No.2 Road and Steveston Highway. The work zones lacked space for large machinery and hauling trucks as well as which posed a hazard for our work crews to work alongside busy vehicular traffic roadways.

Project Highlights:

M2K succeeded in fulfilling our client needs, meeting the construction timeline, despite that the culvert rehabilitation works posed schedule delays and challenges due to high residual water levels contained within the existing culvert confined spaces.
